OWH Memorial Day Blog Hop and Candy

Good morning!  Welcome to the Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop.  If you would like to start at the beginning please hop over to the OWH Stars and Stamps blog

I have a few cards to share that I will be sending off to OWH in the next few days.  They always need miss you, thinking of you, and general cards on top of cards for all holidays.  For holiday deadlines and rules/guidelines you can check out the OWH home page.  A few of the upcoming deadlines are: 4th of July--June 1; Halloween--Sept. 20; Thanksgiving--Oct. 1; Christmas--Oct. 31.  The biggest guideline to remember is not glitter on the cards.  I always forget this one and have to start all over on my cards.

Here are my cards, we were asked to make red, white and blue miss you cards (oops, I forgot the red, white and blue, at least all on one card, but I did get the miss you part).  The sentiment on all cards is by Whimsy Stamps.:
For this card I used this sweet image from Softpencil.  I colored the image with Marvy markers.  The DP is DCWV.  The flowers and brads are from my collection.

For this card I used the Amore fairy from Michelle Perkett.  This is one of my favorite images.  I colored the image with Marvy markers.  The papers and ribbon are from my stash.

I am entering this card in this weeks challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio to use circles and ribbon.

This is one of the newly released images from Inktegrity.  I colored the image with Marvy markers.  The papers are from my stash.

For this card I had a hard time covering up the design on this paper, so I just made it the main focus of the card.  The paper is DCWV.

I want to take a minute to thank all those who risk their lives for our freedoms and safety.  I'm grateful for all they do for all of us.  I am thankful for their families, who send their loved ones to keep us safe.  I can't imaging how difficult it must be for them.

Now, in honor of the blog hop, I am doing a little candy.  I have a bow easy and some ribbon to send to one lucky commenter. I haven't been able to take a picture of it, but I will ship anywhere.  I will leave the candy open until Monday, May 31 at 12 midnight MST and announce the winner on Tuesday, June 1.  Good Luck.

From here you will go to Cheryl at Don't Worry...Be Scrappi.

Thanks for joining us.  Have a great day.

~Rhonda

Great cards Rhonda. I agree that some of the papers are so beautiful that they can really be a card with little to no "extras" and I love the result in yours.
