A couple things to share.

Good morning everyone.  I hope you all had a great Christmas and that Santa was good to you.  I've been enjoying the time with my family.  Today I have an altered notebook and a card to share with you.  I used images from Michelle Perkett on both.  I just love her images.

This first one is a card I made for the current contest happening on the Michelle Perkett PCP group.  It ends tomorrow, so there's still time if you want to play along.  This little fellow is Peppermint, Michelle had a contest last week to name him and the winner got to keep him.  I WON!  Woo Hoo.  Isn't he cute.

I colored the image with Sharpies and then went over it with red Stickles for some shine.  I just love glitter.  The DP is from Fiskars.  Even the little peppermint candies on the side are from Michelle Perkett.

This next one is a mini composition book I altered and added one of Michelle's images to the front.  I'm not sure where the DP came from, it was hiding in my stash, but I think it is Stampin Up.  I just love this image and thought it was perfect for a journal.  I'm even thinking I will make a bigger one so stay tuned.  I colored the image with Sharpies and BIC Markits.

I have had a few people ask me how I made this, so I will try to provide a kind of tutorial.  (I'm not very good at this)  I measure the front from the end of the binding to the edge of the book and add apx 1/4 in., then I do the same from top to bottom.  I glue that to the front (I like to use mod podge, but for this one I used a glue stick.) folding the overlapping pieces in and glueing them down.  (Do the same for the back of the book)  I then measure the inside cover and cut the paper to the exact size (or as close as possible.) and glue it in place inside the book (both front and back).  Then I measure a piece of paper to the length of the journal and about 1 1/2 to 2 in. for the binding and glue that on.  Voila, you have a pretty journal you made yourself.  You can embellish the cover any way you like.

Well, that's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a nice day.
